Communications Workers of America
Use Case - 2016 Verizon Strike
For 45 days in the spring of 2016 nearly 40,000 Verizon employees, represented by the Communications Workers of America, were on strike. CWA used their mobile app – powered by Yellowstone – to coordinate their members at over 5,500 strike-related events around the country including rallies and picket lines.
After over a month of rallies, Verizon and the CWA reached an agreement that saved current jobs, increased salaries, strengthened benefits and will create new jobs. During the strike the CWA mobile app was a critical component to coordinate members and communicating with them which all lead to a successful deal with Verizon.
